Shared Waters

The story behind it -

This artwork is inspired by time spent exploring the rock pools of Dharawal Country with family, slow days shaped by the rhythm of the tide. Within each pool exists a small, living world where many species share the same space: shells, sea stars, tiny fish, anemones, and crabs, all moving in quiet balance.
The circular forms represent these rock pools as places of gathering, each one holding its own community yet connected to the greater ocean. The flowing shapes show the movement of water that links every pool together, just as shared experiences link people together.
Rock pools remind us that even the smallest spaces can hold entire ecosystems, where different lives coexist, depend on one another, and thrive through balance. This piece reflects the beauty of those shared places, in nature and in family, where many lives come together with common purpose.

Each throw is thoughtfully designed on the front, while the reverse side forms naturally during the weaving process. We don’t choose or customise the back—it’s simply the backing of the woven fabric, often showing a softer or darker, inverted version of the design.
